Tokyo: Stocks close down 0.78%

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks lost 0.78 per cent on Thursday as a stronger yen took the wind out of the market ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 135.08 points to finish at 17,248.50, while the Topix index of all first-section shares fell 1.03 per cent, or 14.50 points, to 1,391.90.
