Tokyo: Stocks close flat

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed flat on Thursday as losses on Wall Street and data showing weak Chinese manufacturing activity offset gains from the yen sinking to multi-year lows.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged up just 0.07 per cent, or 12.11 points, to 17,300.86, while the Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.08 per cent, or 1.10 points, to 1,397.64.
