Tokyo: Stocks close higher on BoJ easy monetary policy

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed higher on Thursday, supported by prospects of strong corporate profits and expectations that the Bank of Japan will stick to its loose policy path for some time.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.62 per cent, or 123.73 points, to 20,144.59 while the Topix index of all first-section issues gained 0.69 per cent, or 11.14 points, at 1,633.01.
