Tokyo: Stocks close lower

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower Friday as Chinese shares tumbled and with concerns lingering over the global economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index, which opened higher, lost 0.40 per cent, or 84.13 points, to close at 21,184.60 while the broader Topix index was down 0.31 per cent, or 4.91 points, at 1,596.01.
