Tokyo: Stocks close lower on jitters over US-North Korea talk

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday with investor sentiment hurt by downbeat remarks from US President Donald Trump on planned talks with the North Korea's leader, and trade with China.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 1.18 per cent or 270.60 points to close at 22,689.74 while the broader Topix index was down 0.68 per cent or 12.26 points at 1,797.31.
