Tokyo: Stocks close lower on trade war worries

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with investor sentiment hit by plunges on Wall Street driven by US-China trade war fears.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.45 per cent or 96.29 points to 21,292.29 while the broader Topix index was down 0.29 per cent or 4.98 points at 1,703.80.
