Tokyo: Stocks close up 1.16%

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rose 1.16 per cent on Monday as upbeat US jobs data sparked a rally on Wall Street and boosted the dollar against the yen, helping Japanese exporter shares.
The Nikkei 225 index added 182.30 points to 15,890.95 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares climbed 1.08 per cent, or 13.86 points, to 1,296.40. - AFP
