Tokyo: Stocks close up on exporter rally, Takata suspended

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended higher Monday as major exporters tacked on gains, while trading in troubled airbag supplier Takata was suspended as it filed for bankruptcy protection.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.10 per cent, or 20.68 points, to close at 20,153.35, while the Topix index of all first-section issues gained 0.05 per cent, or 0.87 points, to end the day at 1,612.21.
