Tokyo: Stocks edge up with eyes on US jobs data

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher on Friday in cautious trade ahead of closely watched US jobs data.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.20 per cent, or 43.93 points, to 21,746.38, while the broader Topix index was up 0.18 per cent or 2.80 points at 1,592.58.
