Tokyo: Stocks extend global rally in opening trade

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday, extending a rally on global markets.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.32 per cent, or 52.85 points, to 16,550.21 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.60 per cent, or 7.79 points, to 1,305.35.
