Tokyo: Stocks inch higher on bargain-hunting

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks edged up at the close Tuesday as bargain-hunting purchases overwhelmed worries over US-China trade frictions.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.02 per cent or 3.85 points to 22,342.00, while the broader Topix index was up 0.16 per cent or 2.80 points at 1,731.07.
