Tokyo: Stocks open higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday, driven by a cheaper yen and following gains on Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.28 per cent, or 53.10 points, to 18,963.88 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.23 per cent, or 3.51 points, at 1,519.66.
