Tokyo : Stocks open higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday, backed by confidence in the US economy as Wall Street pushed to fresh records.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.06 per cent, or 12.60 points, to 20,068.49 in the first few minutes while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.12 per cent, or 2.02 points, at 1,641.29.
