Tokyo: Stocks open higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday, tracking gains on Wall Street as President Donald Trump unveiled his tax plan and supported by a cheaper yen.

The bellwether Nikkei 225 index rose 0.64 per cent, or 129.83 points, to 20,396.88 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.65 per cent, or 10.78 points, at 1,675.21.
