Tokyo: Stocks open higher after mixed US close

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday following a mixed close on Wall Street after Fed Chair Jerome Powell signalled an interest rate hike is likely in March.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.39 per cent or 105.37 points at 27,116.70 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 0.51 per cent or 9.68 points to 1,901.53. AFP
