Tokyo: Stocks open higher ahead of Trump address

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday on the back of a weaker yen while investors waited for US President Donald Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.41 per cent, or 78.20 points, to 19,197.19 in the first few minutes of trading, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.38 per cent, or 5.77 points, at 1,541.09.
