Tokyo: Stocks open higher as exporters rise on lower yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday despite lacklustre trading on Wall Street, as a lower yen boosted exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.67 per cent or 148.04 points to 22,236.08 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.69 per cent or 12.16 points at 1,762.95.
