Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Thursday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday, helped by a tailwind from an upbeat Wall Street and a cheaper yen.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.39 per cent, or 82.33 points, to 21,445.38 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.30 per cent, or 5.18 points, at 1,729.82.
