Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Thursday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday, tracking rallies on Wall Street, which was boosted by news that several million doses of a new coronavirus vaccine could be on the way.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 1.28 per cent or 381.25 points at 30,052.95 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 1.13 per cent or 21.53 points to 1,924.60.
