[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday with a tailwind from gains on Wall Street as investor sentiment improved partly thanks to optimism over US-China trade talks.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.82 per cent, or 168.82 points, to 20,202.79 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.55 per cent, or 8.25 points, at 1,520.78.
