Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wall Street advance

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher on Thursday after Wall Street indices finished at all-time peaks for the third day running on strong economic data.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged up 0.14 per cent, or 28.87 points, to 20,655.53 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.12 per cent, or 2.00 points, at 1,686.56.
