Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday with a shortage of fresh market-moving events despite falls on Wall Street and a high yen against the dollar.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.22 per cent or 66.10 points at 29,762.73 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.41 per cent or 8.00 points at 1,962.34.
