[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday as investors took heart from rallies on Wall Street after strong economic data.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.30 per cent or 87.26 points at 28,899.87 in early trade, while the broader Topix index increased 0.37 per cent or 7.27 points to 1,956.75.
