Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday ahead of a long weekend as investors took heart from Wall Street rallies.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 1.32 per cent or 362.87 points at 27,751.03 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 1.22 per cent or 23.03 points to 1,911.92.
