Tokyo: Stocks open lower

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday with exporters hit as the yen jumped on US and European political uncertainty.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.68 per cent, or 129.81 points, to 18,846.90 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.64 per cent, or 9.78 points, at 1,510.64.
