Tokyo: Stocks open lower ahead of US jobs report

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday following a slump in global stocks on concerns about tightening monetary policy and North Korea's nuclear ambitions, while investors remained cautious ahead of a key US jobs report.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.65 per cent, or 130.69 points, to 19,863.37 in early trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.68 per cent, or 11.01 points, at 1,604.52.
