[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday after Europe's main stock markets slid, as investors watch second-quarter earnings in the United States.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.46 per cent, or 76.39 points, to 16,646.92 at the open, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares lost 0.41 per cent, or 5.47 points, to 1,325.92.
