Tokyo: Stocks open lower before Fed meeting

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday as investors braced for a policy meeting by the US central bank.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.17 per cent or 36.59 points to 21,547.91 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down by 0.15 per cent or 2.46 points at 1,611.22.
