Tokyo: Stocks open lower on lingering trade war worries

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday, shrugging off positive impacts from a cheaper yen and gains on Wall Street as worries over a trade war continued to weigh on the market.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 0.14 per cent to 22,311.19 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down 0.08 per cent at 1,729.61.
