[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower Thursday on investor jitters over US monetary policy as minutes of the last Federal Reserve meeting showed central bankers at odds over the timing of interest rate hikes.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.08 per cent, or 16.04 points, to 20,065.59 in early trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.03 per cent, or 0.49 points, at 1,618.14.
