Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Thursday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Thursday as investors locked in profits on recent gains.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.16 per cent or 34.75 points to 21,678.46 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down 0.20 per cent or 3.27 points at 1,618.50.
