Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Tuesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday tracking falls on Wall Street led by a sell-off of US tech highflyers with a higher yen weighing on exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.27 per cent, or 52.80 points, to 19,855.78 in the first few minutes of trade while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.18 per cent, or 2.83 points, at 1,588.72.
