[TOKYO] Tokyo's key Nikkei index opened down 2 per cent on Tuesday (Feb 22) after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his troops into 2 Moscow-backed rebel regions of Ukraine, defying Western threats of sanctions.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 2.01 per cent or 540.09 points at 26,370.78 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 1.74 per cent or 33.26 points at 1,877.42. AFP
