Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Wednesday

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday after subdued US trade, as investors sought fresh market-moving events.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.28 per cent or 80.89 points at 28,882.67 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.12 per cent or 2.38 points to 1,960.27.
