Tokyo: Stocks open lower weighed by rate hike fears

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday, extending falls on Wall Street over worries about higher interest rates.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 0.79 per cent or 175.25 points to 22,102.87 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.68 per cent or 12.02 points at 1,757.73.
