Tokyo: Stocks rebound on bargain-buying

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rebounded at the start of trading Friday as investors scooped up bargains after a sharp drop the previous three days, brushing off a stronger yen.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.33 per cent, or 50.60 points, to 15,326.84 in opening deals, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.23 per cent, or 2.88 points, at 1,228.97.
