US: Wall St opens higher, helped by JPMorgan, oil

[NEW YORK] US stocks opened slightly higher on Thursday as oil prices rose and JPMorgan's strong results boosted bank stocks.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 54.24 points, or 0.34 per cent, at 16,205.65. The S&P 500 was up 6.09 points, or 0.32 per cent, at 1,896.37 and the Nasdaq Composite index was up 18.18 points, or 0.4 per cent, at 4,544.25.
