Cyber resilience needed to counter next-gen adversaries
AS the world gets more connected and devices are integrated with an Internet Protocol (IP) address, the opportunities to orchestrate cyber attacks by next-generation adversaries are growing exponentially.
Security experts say this is why it is more important to increase the resilience of one's IT systems and possess the information and tools to fight back against online criminals, than to develop security architectures to fend off attacks.
Anthony Bargar, the former cyber security adviser at the US Office of the Secretary of Defense, said at last week's GovernmentWare 2013 conference that there is a need to increase organisations' cyber resilience given the trends emerging in security threats today.
