DAIKIN Singapore has bought over local building management systems firm BMS Engineering and Trading for S$12.9 million, and does not rule out more acquisitions, as it anticipates growing demand from building owners to optimise energy use.

The deal, paid for in cash, was completed on Nov 7 and officially announced on Tuesday. BMS is now a subsidiary of Daikin Singapore, which is in turn a unit of Japanese air conditioning giant Daikin Industries.

BMS supplies and installs energy control and automation systems for buildings from Schneider Electric. It counts Gardens By The Bay and Changi Airport's control tower among its more than 100 contracts locally.
