Govt sets up high-level agency to confront cyber threats
The Cyber Security Agency will monitor threats and combat cyber attacks, and build Singapore's cyber infrastructure

AN apex agency with the mandate to combat cyber attacks and formulate Singapore's long-term cyber-security policy will start functioning from April 1.
Called the Cyber Security Agency (CSA), it will be parked under the Prime Minister's Office.
But it will be Minister of Communications and Information (MCI) Yaacob Ibrahim, who will from April 1 also be the Minister in charge of Cyber Security.
This is because most of the capabilities and different arms to come under the CSA report through MCI to him, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean told reporters.
