Harvard student on a mission to save lives

SINGAPORE-BORN Yew Hann-Shuin graduated from Harvard University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in molecular cell biology, pretty certain that she didn't want to do research for the rest of her life.
Pure research changed people's lives too slowly, in her opinion. Instead of spending a big bulk of her career writing papers that would take some 10 years to translate into viable solutions for patients, she wanted to do something that would impact people's lives faster.
