IBM to buy Merge for US$1b for medical imaging technology

[NEW YORK] International Business Machines Corp has agreed to buy Merge Healthcare Inc for US$1 billion, to incorporate the medical company's imaging management platform with its Watson data analytics tool.
The all-cash deal is subject to regulatory review and approval from Merge's shareholders, who would receive US$7.13 a share, the companies said today in a release.
