SINGAPORE is one of the most digitally connected and technologically advanced cities in the world, with an all-time-high smartphone penetration rate of 84 per cent, and with Singaporeans spending more than 12 hours a day looking at their digital devices.
With 4.6 million active social media users here, and everyone gaining quality access to the Internet, safety has become of paramount importance in cyber space.
In fact, a whopping 20 per cent of all crimes in Singapore are cyber crimes; social media occupies a significant proportion of this space.
