More control over BYOD needed: IDC

BYOD - bring-your-own-device - is an ongoing trend sweeping through enterprises as employees opt to bring their mobile computing devices to work. However, companies will need to evolve their mobility strategies to a "choose-your-own-device" (CYOD) one in order to have a more controllable, secure network environment.

According to Charles Reed Anderson, Asia-Pacific head of telecom practice and mobility lead at research agency IDC, BYOD is fast spreading as workers eschew company-issued notebooks and laptops, for personal devices that tend to be lighter and have better battery life.
