WE NOW stand on the brink of a technological innovation that will transform the way we live, work and communicate with each other. This is the Fourth Industrial Revolution - characterised by the integration of technology among the physical, digital and biological fields. The endless possibilities brought about by emerging technology breakthroughs are bound to disrupt almost every industry in every country, at a scope unseen during the last three revolutions.

If IT is the "engine under the hood", then digital transformation is the "driving experience".

IT often refers to back office functions to drive the rest of the business forward. Digital transformation, on the other hand, is less concerned about the individual building blocks or the "how", but is more focused on the use and application of these technologies. It is the successful interplay between technology and business, and the possibilities are multiplied by the deployment of sensors, social media, cloud, analytics, AI (artificial intelligence), mobile and more.
