S Korean messaging app banks on Japanese love of manga

Kakao, big at home but unknown beyond, adopts manga-style of selling books by chapters

Instead of charging per book, Kakao's Piccoma app sliced them into chapters to provide smaller and cheaper offerings, and win over casual readers rather than just hardcore fans.
