Samsung Galaxy Note 7 slated for Aug 20 release
SAMSUNG'S latest in the Galaxy Note line, Note 7, will go on sale in Singapore from Aug 20.
The 64 GB Note 7 will be priced at S$1,168 (including GST) and will be available in black, gold and silver.
With a dual edge curved screen, Samsung's latest phablet sports a 5.7-inch (about 14.5 cm) QHD Super Amoled screen and is powered by the company's octa-core processor. In addition, both the phone and stylus are dust and water resistant.
New and/or enhanced features include iris recognition technology, an updated design stylus, high dynamic range (HDR) video streaming capabilities, USB Type-C connector and an external memory slot for expandable memory of up to 256 GB.
Samsung revealed its new phone at an event on Tuesday morning (US time) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, with satellite events taking place simultaneously in London and Rio de Janeiro.
Registration of interest with the local telco operators as well as with major consumer electronics stores will start from noon on Aug 3; consumers can also visit certain Samsung stores during opening hours on Aug 3 to pre-order the phone. Pre-order collection is a day earlier on Aug 19.
