Smartphone wave boosts Q3 earnings at Unisem
Kuala Lumpur
RIDING on the back of the global smartphone wave, Malaysian chipmaker Unisem posted a 150 per cent year-on-year rise in third quarter earnings to RM27.1 million (S$10.6 million). That brought its core nine-month earnings to RM34.5 million against consensus full-year forecasts of RM36.7 million.
In a filing with the stock exchange on Thursday, the firm also declared an interim dividend of two sen per share which translated to a net dividend yield of one per cent.
