Abenomics' effect shows in robust profits
Weaker yen after monetary expansion results in hike in Japan Inc's profitability
Tokyo
IMPROVEMENTS to Japanese corporate profitability under Abenomics have emerged in the financials of companies - leading Japanese engineering and electrical group Hitachi has recorded a more than 50 per cent surge in profits for last year, and electronics giant Sharp has made a return to profits for the first time in three years.
Japan's second-biggest carmaker, Nissan, has also done well with a robust rise in profits for the financial year to March 31, stemming partly from the weaker yen which resulted from the monetary expansion that forms part of Abenomics.
