Apple gets set to introduce bigger iPhones
IN a few days, the most hyped press event of the year in the mobile-phone industry will take place. Any guesses what it will be about?
If you live in this century and use a mobile phone, of course you'd know! It's Apple's major event of the year where it will announce the latest iteration of the iPhone, a product that brings in most of the tens of billions in profit that the company makes every year. A bonus this year is the expected announcement of the much anticipated iWatch, a product which some Apple insiders have claimed will get the haughty clock makers of Switzerland to sit up and take notice.
The big day is Sept 9. People from around the world will be waiting eagerly to see what Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, brings out of his pocket and also what he will be wearing on his wrist. Singapore is no exception. The iPhone is extremely popular here. According to data complied by IDC in the first half of this year, Apple sold 576,000 units in Singapore out of the 1.8 million smartphones bought during that period.
